FAQ

Q: Is a deposit required prior to storing with yourselves?
A: No.

Q: Is it compulsory to use your insurance?
A: No, but we will require you supply us with proof of insurance and to what value.

Q: Is there a minimum term contract for storage?
A: 4 weeks minimum.

Q: How much notice is required to terminate the storage contract?
A: 14 days notice in writing.

Q: How secure is the site?
A: Because we are close to the airport, security is high. We also have CCTV surveillance and the airport have a security team who patrol the business park 24/7.

Q: Do I supply my own padlock?
A: You're welcome to supply your own padlock or we have a range of padlocks in our store to purchase.

Q: What Items can I store?
A: Practically anything, within reason. Things that aren't allowed are anything illegal, flammable, toxic, perishable, explosive, compressed gas, paint, petrol, firearms, ammunition, chemicals, animals/livestock etc. Please see our full terms and conditions or speak to our staff if you are unsure.

Q: How do I know what size container I require?
A: Please feel free to call one of our staff who can help or you're welcome to come and have a look at our containers.

Q: When can I get access to my belongings?
A: Our outdoor containers have 24/7 access. Our indoor containers are open during working hours, 8am - 5pm Monday-Friday, 9am - 12pm on Saturdays, NB. we are closed on Bank holidays.

Q: What is archive storage?
A: Archive storage is where we can store and archive documents for our customers in line with GDPR regulations. We can also deliver files and boxes to your door when you require them. Please see page here for options and prices for this service. The Trenchard family - 100 years in removals

Part one: Britannia Legerstar self store can trace it's origins in Bournemouth back 100 years. The family business was started back in 1919 by Victor Trenchard who had moved to Bournemouth after discharge from the forces at the end of the First World War. He and his wife settled in Bournemouth with their two baby sons, both of whom would join him in his business when they left school. Initially, Victor used his pony and trap to carry out small moves and also to move luggage and packed boxes to and from the local Railway Station. In those days much of the long distance moving was just personal effects and the railways were the most effective means of transport between Towns and Cities throughout the Country.
